It’s good practice to take photos of your belongings any time they get damaged while in storage. If there is damage done to the outside of the unit, (e.g. burglary, wind/storm damage, etc.) make sure to take photos of the damaged unit as well.If you are still unsure what to do, call 888-611-4778.I NEED TO FILE A CLAIMTENANT PROTECTIONBURGLARY?Make sure you first file a police report and have a case number for reference. Take photos that show forced entry. Keep broken or damaged storage unit lock and/or other locking mechanism for evidence of burglary.WATER DAMAGE?It’s important to establish where the water came from: Did the unit flood (flood damage is not covered) or did water leak down from the roof or a pipe? If it was a leaky roof or pipe that caused the damage, take photos of where the water was entering the unit and of any damaged items.RODENT AND INSECT DAMAGE?Take photos that show rodents or insects have been in your unit and take photos of any damaged items.
